Winter Wonderland.

I hope everyone had a happy and healthy holiday! I was away for a few weeks visiting family in VA and NY. While back East we got a few small snow storms. I am not a huge fan of snow, but I was happy to play outside with my niece and to wake up to a white Christmas. I got a lot of nice clothes for Christmas...so hopefully I can start posting some outfit of the day posts :) Happy New Year- be safe!

Military Ball!

The other night we attended the bf's company ball. I got this fabulous dress from Kohl's (from the JLO collection). The dress was the perfect material made to flatter any figure. I just loved the contrast of black lace against the ivory. I didn't need a slip under it either, it is pretty thick material. The shoes are old, I have seriously had them for like 10 years and they have lasted me a LONG time haha. I love them. I can't even remember where I bought them way back when. I unfortunately only had my phone camera and IG pics. SO enjoy!

Greetings from TX.

It is already December! Wow. Time flies, yes? I have been busy with my photography business taking some holiday photos for some fabulous families. We fly back East to visit our own families in about a week and a half- can't believe it. In between shooting and editing, I have been working on our 2012 holiday photos/ card. Thankfully we took them (self portrait style) before Thanksgiving. After we were finished, my boyfriend suggested we shoot some ootd pics for my blog...so here they are :)

I get a lot of comments about my hair...well fortunately I have very healthy and shiney hair. I don't use any products on a day to day basis. My hair is baby fine and very thin. I don't have to ever straighten it with a brush or flat iron...it will dry naturally or with a blow dryer pin straight. I however, like my heair with a little beach wave or curl. I use a curling wand A LOT. It has been the only heating tool that keeps a curl in my hair more than 20 mins!

Anyway, my hair is pretty long (I never cut it!), but its super thin and I decided to add some volume to it with extensions. Of course most people get extensions for the length...well, they do add another inch to an inch and a half to my length, but they 100% add the volume and texture I often lack.

The extensions are real hair and very easy to take in and out. You can pretty much do whatever you do to your actual hair to them. I do not wear them everyday. For one, it is still HOT where I live and who wants to add more locks of hair to their head? I do wear them for various occasions and honestly unless I tell someone I have them in...no one ever notices.

I bought them two months ago and I dyed them to match my hair. It was annoying, to be honest. I don't reccomend doing it unless you have to. If you have any questions let me know!

South Padre Island.

So last month I went to SPI for the first time ever. I have been trying to go there for a weekend getaway for about two years now. There was always some reason why we couldn't go. Mostly because of a hurricane or tropical storm etc. WELL, thankfully I found a Living Social deal and we went for two nights. I loved it. It was the first time I have seen a beach here in Texas that reminded me of the East Coast. It was so relaxing and quiet too, since it was a few weeks after Labor Day. The weather was amazing, not too hot and not too cool. Only problem was that I forgot my beach bag and had to use my Marc Jacobs neon tote :)

Fall life.

Lately I have been super busy and fell off the blog wagon. So since I last blogged, I met my friends new pig in San Antonio, I went to the Fort Bend County Fair, saw Boys Like Girls perform at the House of Blues and I visited my family in New York!

I loved being home in New York with my family. I also was so excited to see the leaves changing colors and to go apple picking :)

I went to the House of Blues (Houston) for the first time. I really liked the venue and I loved seeing Boys Like Girls. Martin Johnson is gorgeous! I wish I had better photos of my outfit from that night. I might take some better quality pics soon and post a follow up...

The fair was nice, my favorite part was the petting zoo!

Our friends in San Antonio bought a tea cup pig and will be breeding them. Wilbur is so adorable. They also have a homeade wooden swing in their backyard...can you tell I want one?

Dusty Pink.

Well, it hasn't felt like FALL down here yet. Getting dressed lately has left me feeling confused to say the least. It is still super hot, but my mind is like hello, you can't put on neon shorts mid-September! Last week during my Kohl's trip, I found this awesome LC by Lauren Conrad thin blouse/ blazer/ jacket. It is very light weight and perfect for down here. I wore a black tank under it and thin black pants. The piece was only $8.00!  I love the dusty pink color and black trim. You can dress it up even more with some accessories and heels. It would also work with jeans and a pony tail, for a pulled together yet comfortable look.

Kohl's haul!

Last night I did some damage at Kohl's. Above are some of the items I got on sale. I've said it before, I love Kohl's, but ONLY when there is a sale and I have a coupon (this time it was 30%). If there is no coupon involved, I really can't justify spending money in there. The shirt was $14, shoes $11 and scarf $10. I got some other things like a cute flannel shift for the bf, a breakfast griddle we really needed and many more pieces of clothing for moi.

If you have a card, then you received a coupon and if you don't have a card you will get the coupon when opening up one. I hate having credit cards and what I hate even more is store credit cards (but you're only entitled to the coupons if you're a card holder). Anyways since it isnt that often, it works out fine for me to have the card and reap the benefits!

Oh you also get $10 Kohl's cash back for every $50 you spend. The Kohl's cash is basically like a gift card to the store with a specific time frame for redemption. Nonetheless, who deosn't like money back?!

Happy shopping! :)

Burgundy Wine.

Loving the burgundy/wine color for Fall. Last week I picked out some favorites from a few sites, and I never got to uploading (sorry!) until now. Two items are no longer on the website or I just didn't see them again. Unfortunately H & M doesn't have an online store, so it is hit or miss if you go out hunting for this stuff. I purchased #1 and a shirt similar to #4 (I wore a cream colored version to Houston's FNO with jeans and spiked flats).

This weekend we went out for drinks with some new friends and I wore my burgundy colored jeans. They are SO COMFORTABLE. They were $15, so I think that makes me love them even more. They photograph with a purple-ish tone (annoying), but not the case in person.

I hear everyone in NY is enjoying the crisp Fall air and just hearing that makes me a little homesick! It's been cooler here in Houston, but we are still high 80's-90...
