Picnic Attire: Blueberry Pie.

A few weeks ago I saw a girl out shopping in a blue and white plaid shirt. She was wearing this one from J.Crew. It was super cute, but $78.00 for one shirt is out of my price range. I figured I could find one thrifted, but I actually found this at Kohl’s instead. I only shop at Kohl’s because they send me a 30% coupon and when I don’t get those coupons,  I don’t shop there. They have some cute things, but completely not worthy of paying full price. My white shorts (also from Kohl’s) are the most comfortable shorts I have ever owned…I wear them a LOT!

Fierce Apparel: Black Cherry.

This is my The Dark Knight Rises inspired outfit. I found this top at Forever 21, super cheap ($11.90) and thought it was cute to wear with these leggings. I really want the American Apparel disco pants, but I can't bring myself to spend that much money. I also plan on wearing my new top on vacation over a bathing suit with some shorts. My boyfriend and I went to see the movie last weekend and I was inspired by Catwoman's fierce outfits. I am not an Anne Hathaway fan, but she did surprisingly well in this role. I thought the outfit would pop nicely with this background and the cops were totally not planned, but made for a great shot!

Did you see the movie? I really liked it, thought it was the best one yet. Of course my heart goes out to all of the victims in Colorado. Such a horrific tragedy and for no reason. I have been reading the stories of the victims and my heart breaks each time. To learn how to help the victims of the Colorado massacre, click here.

Fall Shoe Finds.

This month I found a few good deals at the outlet malls. For me outlet malls are always hit or miss. I bought these moccasins at Aldo in the San Marcos Outlets for $30. The boots are Steve Madden, found at the Houston Outlets for $120 (buy one get one 1/2 off). I don't care if they are last season, I care more about wearing something cute, comfortable most importantly inexpensive!

I recently moved down South, so I am not quite sure what Winter is really like here. I asked the sales assistant if people wear boots here and she said only for the fashion aspect...(whoops). Oh well, I know I will be visiting home quite a bit this Fall/Winter and I am sure I will have no problem breaking them in! Do you have a great Fall Find? Share yours below!

Olsen Inspired Look: Black and White.

I am a huge MK + A fan. I have always loved their style. I was looking up makeup ideas and I came accross this Ashley Olsen image from a few years back. It reminded me of this dress that I just did not know what to do with. I have been contemplating getting rid of this ivory babydoll dress for a year now. It is simple and cute, but unfortunately VERY see through. I decided to try this look with my own things and see what I came up with. The jacket is awesome and versatile. It has an asymetric zipper (I actually just like to wear it open) and it's pretty light weight. The shoes have been with me about 3-4 years. They are my go to black shoe, for one reason only...the comfot. They are super comfortable because of the platforms. I remembered last month I purchased a nude color slip, so it worked great under this dress and you couldnt see anything. I wore this on a night out to eat, nowhere fancy. The best thing is that you can dress it up more with some accessories if you really want to wear it out on the town. I kept it simple for today.

Maxi Must-Have.

Double click for larger view

Last summer I saw Kim Kardashian photographed in a few different Maxi Dresses, she looked so put together and yet comfortable at the same time. I wanted one ASAP, especially because I was going to Florida a week later. I searched high and low and found my dress at Joyce Leslie. I wore it once with flip flops and never wore it again. Although comfortable, it dragged on the ground and annoyed me. (One problem, it is a medium and I normally wear a small...but you know when you get in that "I HAVE TO HAVE IT!" mood...yea) Surprisingly, the material is very soft and of good quality for the price. I hung onto it and today I decided to pull it out of my closet and give it another whirl before throwing it in the DO NOT WANT pile. The shoes gave me the perfect height and the cropped denim jacke was the missing piece to the outfit. I also love love love my new arrow bracelet. The second bracelet is actually made out of used guitar strings from the Goo Goo Dolls, it's special to me :)

Summer Trend: Leopard Nail Art.

I am typically not a nail person. I do not have the patience to let my nails dry at home. I easily am distracted and can't sit still, who's with me on this? I think the last time I did my own nails was over a year ago. Don't get me wrong, polished nails are a MUST...I just prefer someone else to do them for me. I also just like that little bit of relaxation you get when getting your nails professionally painted. A few days ago I tried something new, the leopard print accent nail. I was shocked I didnt A. mess it up and B. it was fairly simple. I knew if I did all of my nails in the animal print, I would get sick of it after a day...so I stuck with the one accent nail.

I didn't follow any tutorial and unfortunately I don't have one for you, I googled leopard nails and looked closely at the spots on the nails and went with it. The best advice I can give is to not think about it too much...I also think the color combination plays a big part in it. A few days after this I tried the design on my cousin with red, gold and black and it did not look too leopard like. The neutral color underneath made it look for realistic for me...

            Gold, Milani

New Rage: Floral and Colored Denim.

I purchased these orange denim shorts back in March. I didn't really wear them too much. I had tried wearing a black flowy top at first and it made me look like a frumpy Halloween decoration. I recently organized my clothes and it is so much easier to find things and put outfits together. I usually wear the top in a more formal setting, but it worked perfectly for this casual day. I searched high and low for wedges. I am very picky when it comes to wedges. These worked great with my short height and I like that the floral print is somewhat neutral, making it easy to pair up with multiple outfits.
