Summer Nights.

Happy summer! I haven't had time to post in awhile. It's been a busy busy summer so far. This weekend my boyfriend and I went downtown for dinner and to walk around. We ate at The Grove for the first time. It was a nice change from the usual chain restaurants! I had a sweet tea vodka for the first time, it was delicious. The food was really good too. Before dinner we went for a walk in the park and tested out my new camera ;)

Miracle Girl Living in a Material World.

Took some time off from the blogging world (sorry!), I have had a lot going on the past few months. If you know me, you already know the personal details and if you don't know me...just take my word for it!

Huge, huge, huge thanks to everyone out there in the world who helped send positive thoughts and prayers our way for my precious niece. She is a true little miracle. I love her so much. She loves dressing up and being girly, especially when she "matches" her aunt Candice :)

Here is a pic from a trip to see her doctor...little impromptu photo shoot. She dresses better than me!

Date Night Outfit.

When shopping I usually go for timeless pieces. As I mentioned in an older post, I try to think of many occasions where I could wear this item rather than an imaginary place in my head. I TRY to be realistic with most of my purchases, but don't get me wrong, I have many pairs of shoes that I "had to have" sitting in my closet waiting for the perfect moment LOL.

You just can't go wrong with a nude heel. To me they are timeless. They will match practically 90% of your wardrobe and look super chic. I had bought a pair about 3-4 years ago from Forever 21. I love them, they are my go to heels. They are patent nude sling backs with maybe a 3" inch heel? They are not super tall and pretty comfortable (making them practical for a heel).

I have been wanting higher nude platforms for awhile, but did not find anything I like. I am talking the low income Victoria Beckham version...well I found them at JustFab.com. They are 4-5" inches and not the easiest thing to walk in. You know the type you wear to a dinner party or function where you will be sitting most of the time! They are cute nonetheless ;)

My wardrobe tends to bend towards neutrals and natural shades. I am in love with the soft blush colors and again, this would work well in the winter with a black skirt and tights or in the summer with a pair of white pants. For $13.99, I am able to wear this shirt all through the year...dressing it up or keeping it casual.

PS-  Just have to address the hair situation since I have heard some things through the grapevine...I am NOT wearing extensions in these photos, that is my real hair (it has gotten pretty long!) I also do not wear it straight that often, but for some reason this night it was working for me :)

After Party Faves!

These photos were taken at the Elton John after party. I LOVED Britney's look. The dark hair looks so healthy and fresh on her and that dress is amazing. She looks so great, I wish she walked the red carpet at the show! Out of all the Kardashian sisters, Khloe stood out to me. I love this dress so much. I love the color and cut and it fits her like a glove.

2013 Oscars Best Dressed!

I was busy out shopping, but got home just in time to catch some of the Red Carpet. First, too many of these women have played it safe this year or stuck to their usual looks...(yawn). I have a few favorites down below. Cutest couple goes out to the Tatum's (I can't wait to see what that baby looks like)! There were many many many looks that I hated, however I refuse to show on my blog so I will just name some names...#1 definitely goes to Brandi Glanville followed by Jane Fonda; Anne Hathaway and Kelly Rowland. I heard them mention Helen Hunt was in H & M, umm it was wrinkle city and so non-glam, not the occasion to wear that honey.

I will be watching the show here and there...the Walking Dead comes on tonight and that trumps this show in my house ;)

P!nk: The Truth About Love Tour: Houston Review

Last Thursday, my boyfriend and I went on an impromptu date to see Pink perform at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. I had a previous commitment so I originally was not planning to go to this show, at the last minute that fell through...

Anyway, I ended up getting great seats (5th row on the side) and we went to the show. The only other time I saw Pink was in 2009 live at the MTV Video Music Awards and she was great, so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed.

She definitely works hard and you can just tell she actually really enjoys what she does. I definitely think she does not get enough recognition. Her voice was on point and she was beaming with excitement throughout the entire show. She mentioned her family several times and even pointed out her husband (Carey Hart) holding her baby girl (Willow) in the audience. Later, halfway through the show, she asked where her husband was (the next song was about him) and then she laughed and said "oh it's bath time right now."

Seeing her dedication to her career and being so involved with her family - basically merging these two worlds seamlessly together, was definitely impressive. I also can't leave out her impressive physique! Personally, I wouldn't want her exact body, but it is still amazing to see how in shape and how strong she is (and had a child not that long ago).

Overall the performance was excellent, she commanded the stage and every person in that crowds attention. I have been to many many concerts in my day and at least 25% of the crowd starts rushing out of the venue right before the encore. Well not at this show! The audience eagerly waited to see what she would do next and not a soul moved out of their seat.

The only thing I did not like was the raunchy theme during some of the show...there was some crazy guy popping up here and there and he just grossed me out. I think he was supposed to be a cross between a burlesque dancer/ lion tamer. Her dancers also did several dances as if they were having s*x too. Just seemed tasteless to me. I felt like the show was entertaining enough without all of that, but hey, that is my opinion!

One of my favorite parts of the show was a video they played at the very end. It was outtakes from her tour rehearsals. Many of the clips featured her daughter and it was seriously the cutest thing. It was sweet to see them all happy together as a family. Pink and Carey both post photos of Willow on Instagram and Twitter, but I notice they are super careful...usually it's a photo of her walking away or profile shot (never of her face). They aren't ones to want their child's photo blasted everywhere. To be honest I really didn't know what she looked like until I saw this video. Adorable...and how lucky to have such cool parents.

Below are the dates for her upcoming shows, definitely check it out if you like Pink, I highly recommend!
